Work at Home-Avoiding Distractions

Over the last few years we have seen a downturn in the economy. This has left us with a high unemployment rate. One glimmering speck of light in this rather depressing topic is that many people have taken advantage of the extra time on their hands and made their decision that this is the time.
People are finding light at the end of the tunnel as they learn that it is much more economic to work from home than to go to the work places. But one should never lose site of the fact that it takes the maximum amount of self-discipline and this is the biggest challenge.
So for starters you need to evaluate yourself and determine if you have the self discipline to work as your own boss.
Here are some questions you might ask yourself in order to determine this:

  • Do you dream of being your own boss or wish you had your own business.
  • Do you go over the potential business opportunities as they arise in you head almost every day.
  • Will you pass up a recreational invitation to complete any kind of work project hanging over your head.
  • Do you only feel satisfied when you have completed any or all of the projects you have started.
  • Do you smile while looking at the finished product that you have accomplished.
  • Are you often the person that seems to come up with better ways of doing old routines.
  • Do you seem to be the bossy one in your family.
  • Do you have a large say in what goes on in your house or family.
  • Do you find it hard to stop working on something once you get started.
  • Are you always thinking about the future and what need to be done just to maintain it.
  • Do you really care or worry about the outcome of you and or your families future to the point of taking positive action to prevent negative outcomes.
  • Do you have to be reminded of things that need to be done or are you the one doing the reminding.
  • Do you always need or use the snooze button on your alarm clock or do you take advantage of every available minute.
  • Do you wait until the last minute to get things done that you know must be done no matter what.
  • Do you find yourself in leadership positions more so because you are capable and it suites you.

As you might have guessed it is important to be mentally ready to work at home. If you spend all your time clearing the path to success, there will be no time to work at the business you started out to conquer.
TIPS FOR SUCCESS
Here is a comprehensive list of tips for beginning your work at home journey:

  • Remember your dream at all times. Hold yourself accountable for reaching it. Know that you are not just trying to do this, you are going to do it and failure is not an option.
  • Write down your business ideas and apply only the ones that are directly related to your dream.
  • Make it clear to your partner boss in the home what you are going to do and get approval along with commitment to help and stay the course regardless of the pains. Make it clear that you expect help sharing the burden of bossing the others and taking over some of your mundane chores.
  • Dedicate the next 12 months of your life to business only. Stop drinking and start thinking. Get the idea of vacations out of your skull. Stop wasting time on tv shows, movies or any kind of weekend adventures. You can't concentrate on anything if you dilute the solution every few days. After a few weeks of this you will wonder why you didn't start earlier.
  • Never let the sun go down on incomplete daily tasks. If you find it unavoidable, work double time the next day to complete it and work triple time that same day to complete the task for that day.
  • Take joy in completed goals with quick celebrations. Do this with the other boss as often as you can.
  • Always use the best, fastest, easiest, and cheapest way to do all your tasks even if they are not your own ideas. Get as many of your ideas from educated sources as well as the other boss in the house.
  • Keep your bossy duties at the home intact and or share them liberally with the other boss in the home.
  • Reflect on the overall positive potential for the outcome of your success for your family.
  • Be strict on yourself to complete all of your "to-do-list" and just as strict on everyone else in the house. If they don't like the new you, they will spend more time away which is good for your work time.
  • Never ever ever hit the snooze button on your alarm clock. Get up, get going, right now! Do your regular household duties first to free your mind of distractions.
  • Stay strong and bold when you are talking about your new venture or when you are handing out orders in the home. Never use safe words like ok, good, or maybe, say GREAT, or ABSOLUTELY, and say it with excitement. Solve all new family problems swiftly and with conviction in your heart. Command respect while smiling in the presence of everyone.

On a personal level, stop drinking, no drugs, no self-pity, no hate, and no violent resolve. If you need to consume while you work, consider tea, coffee, or maybe Starbucks. Don't over eat and avoid diet pills. Over the counter drugs like Excedrin has caffeine and pain killers which relieve the pain and pep you at the same time. Like all drugs consult your doctor prior to taking them or consider the ingredients first. Avoid as many phone calls from winded friends and family as you can. The cell phone has been a great help in business but it is the most powerful time waster you own. submerge yourself in your business and you will be successful. And last but not least by any means, Pray to God for your strength along the way and hopefully right to the bank a few years from now when you can afford buy something new with cash instead of credit.
